They went out to see the fireworks for the new Millennium over the dark skies of Addis Ababa. He hold her hand tight not to lose her in the crowd of spectators, She covered her face with 'netella' and wrapped her body around him staring at the dark skies. When the firework started and everyone around them cheered, they looked at each other’s face, which was glowed with the color of the firework. And they both flew back in memory. They both remembered the long, difficult, bitter and sometimes sweet life they lived in the past 38 years of their life. He remembered the war in which he yanked out of his home and forced to participate. The unemployed life, which took him from house to house to collect garbage so he can make ends meet. His HIV infection. She also remembered her disagreement with her family for being Pentecostal, The abuse she endured by her abusive ex-husband who inherit her HIV. And then they felt thankful for the day they met in the HIV positives shelter. They both felt comfortable sharing their stories to each other, cried in one another’s shoulder and created a bond.
